With a heatwave on the way Pets at Home is touring the UK with a new doggy ice cream van stocked full of free frozen treats for pooches – and Tatton Park will be its first stop.

On Thursday 27th July, from 10:30 until 16:00, the van will be parked next to The Stables at the popular park.

Dog owners will be able to pick up a free dog-friendly Frozzys frozen yoghurt for their furry friends as well as take advantage of a water station, available to help keep pets hydrated after a fun walk around the park.

There will also be experts from Pets at Home and Vets for Pets on hand to help owners find out more about keeping their pets safe and cool in the summer and answer any questions.

Dr Karlien Heyrman, Head of Pets at Pets at Home, said: “Summertime brings longer days, with more time spent outside so it’s important that owners are clued up on how to keep their pups happy and healthy. While it’s generally safe to take dogs out in the summer months, hot weather can be incredibly dangerous for our furry friends. If they get too hot, heatstroke poses a real threat to their health and can even be fatal.

“That’s why our ice cream van tour is so important – not only to bring well-deserved treats to dogs from across Cheshire, Manchester and further afield, but to help educate owners on how they can keep their beloved dogs safe this summer.”

Owners will also have the chance to pick up discounts to spend in store, alongside a free spa upgrade at Pets Grooming.

The Pets at Home ice cream van will also be visiting the Derby Dog Lovers Festival, Worthing Beach, and Clapham Common as part of its UK tour.
