Local couple win dream place on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway plane to Orlando

A local couple have landed a place on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway plane to Universal Orlando Resort next month.

Debbie Moore and her wife Tiffeny, who have been together for 16 years, were married six years ago, but are yet to go on their honeymoon.

Now, the couple will be jetting off to celebrate in style after Debbie appeared on the Saturday night show and won the once-in-a-lifetime trip and a paid week off work from her job at Pets at Home.

Last night’s episode (Saturday 25th March) saw TV favourite Stephen Mulhern surprise Facilities Team Leader, Debbie, and her colleagues at the Pets at Home support office in Handforth.

After bursting in on a company-wide meeting, Stephen revealed that they would be appearing on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and had the chance to win a week off work and four seats on the famous plane to Orlando.

Debbie came out victorious after competing against colleagues in a series of challenges, one of which saw her navigating an agility course, while blindfolded and dressed as a dog, as quickly as she could.

According to Debbie, the win has come at the perfect time after a challenging few years for the couple, including a car crash which left Tiffeny needing to use a wheelchair for some time.

Debbie said: “We’ve had a really rough time the past few years, but things have started to look up for us recently. Tiffeny has been able to gain some of her mobility back and return to work, which has changed our lives completely, and winning this just feels like the icing on top of the cake for us now.

“We didn’t go on a honeymoon when we got married six years ago, and we’ve never been away just the two of us in the 16 years we’ve been together, so to be going on this holiday of a lifetime together is just amazing.”

The pair, who live in St. Helens with their three bulldogs, will both be taking the week off work from Pets at Home as Tiffeny also works for the pet care specialist as a Pet Care Advisor in the Prescot Store.

Describing her experience on the show, Debbie said: “Obviously when Stephen first came in none of us had any idea what was going on, so it was a huge surprise and the last thing we expected from the morning meeting, but I was definitely up for all the challenges!

“The whole day after that was just so much fun and the atmosphere in the office was amazing – everyone is still absolutely buzzing about it!”

Talking about her win, she said: “It was only in that last game where I started to think about the fact I could actually win, and I then got extremely nervous and couldn’t stop shaking.

“It felt like everything happened in slow motion after that. The silence was deafening as we waited to find out who would win, but as soon as I realised it was me it just felt so surreal – I can still hardly believe it!”

Debbie, who has worked for Pets at Home for the last 18 years, added: “The whole experience was amazing to be a part of and I’m really grateful to everyone at Pets at Home who helped to make this happen for us.

“I absolutely love my job and the people I work with feel more like a family to me, so it feels even more special to have shared this experience with them.”

The couple are set to board the specially chartered British Airways flight with Ant and Dec, Stephen Mulhern, and the Saturday Night Takeaway crew on Monday 3rd April and will be in Orlando for the season finale on Saturday 8th April.
