Supporting Chester Zoo with their endangered fish preservation programme
As part of our "Store of the Future" refit in Stockport, we installed a new aquatics section.
Some of the tanks that were no longer required but yet were in perfectly good condition, along with various filtration kits, have been repurposed and installed at Chester Zoo.
Pete Carey, Pets at Home’s aquatics specialist commented: “Chester Zoo approached me a while ago, as I still have contacts with many zoos and public aquariums from my previous career. They are in desperate need of more tanks for some very important conservation projects and couldn’t afford to buy new ones. The six banks of tanks going to them, plus some of the salvaged filtration, will play a crucial part in ensuring the survival of some of the most critically endangered fish on the planet that the zoo works with.”
