Street Vet are a group of veterinary professionals who have come together to provide free veterinary care for the pets of homeless people in various UK cities.

The bond between many homeless people and their dogs is profound, and the health and wellbeing of their canine companions is a major priority for their owners.

As a result of having his dog, Lucky, treated by Street Vet, Phil Bradshaw came up with the idea of walking the length of the UK to raise awareness and money for the charity.

Phil started the 1500 mile journey in Southampton on July 18th 2018, walking around the south west, up to Wales, onto the Lake District, into Scotland and then back down the east coast before finishing back in his base in St Albans.

The Pets at Home group was able to support Phil and Lucky by providing food for Lucky from multiple Pets at Home stores along the route, and crucially, colleagues from Vets4Pets provided checkups and any required treatment for Lucky during the walk. The group was able to support the awareness drive by sharing Phil’s journey on their social media accounts, and a number of Group colleagues even funded hotel rooms for Phil and Lucky along the way.
