A local dog has been chosen to star in a nationwide advertising campaign for a chain of pet stores.
Blue, a Miniature Schnauzer, will appear on posters in all 350 Pets at Home stores, highlighting its brand new campaign, Change Their Food, Change Their Life.
The retailer is welcoming pets and owners to come into their local store to get free advice and guidance from their trained nutrition consultants.
Blue’s owner Lisa Cardigan of Orpington, Kent says: “It’s great that Blue has been picked to appear in the poster campaign. I am so proud of her!
“Blue was getting rather overweight but as she has problems with her liver it can be difficult to change her diet. However, the nutrition consultant was really helpful and informative and together we discussed how to manage Blue’s weight loss in a healthy way.
“The advice we were given has really helped – Blue has lost weight, she is much fitter and her agility has improved a lot. She seems to be enjoying life a lot more now.”
Blue was fed a diet of Pro Plan original, a nutrition consultant advised that Blue should be fed Pro Plan Light and after just six months she had lost a kilo and was back to her recommended weight.
Pets at Home launched the Change Their Food, Change Their Life campaign to underline the importance of a good diet for animals and how making the right nutrition choices can transform a pet’s health and wellbeing.
Pet owners can bring their animals into their local store to be weighed and to discuss any health problems which may be affected by their diet. A Pets at Home nutrition advisor will then consider whether a change of diet is necessary, and recommend foods which suit the pet’s breed, size and age, as well as any on-going health concerns.
Lisa said: “It was the first time we have been in to talk to one of the experts from Pets at Home regarding nutritional advice.
“We’re going back to have another appointment to make sure we maintain Blue’s new slender shape.”
